J.Crew Savannah Opening

As you have probably heard, I am so ecstatic for J.Crew to be arriving in Savannah, and so excited to be co-hosting their grand opening event this Wednesday evening at the new location at 201 W. Broughton St. from 6-8pm. J.Crew has always been a favorite brand of mine because they have something for any & every occasion – a pencil skirt for work, a tee for the weekends, a cocktail dress, great staple shoes – you name it, they have it. I adore the new fall arrivals and feel like there is something for every woman – like this staple dress for work, the perfect go-to pant, great button downs like these, a dressy top, fun pumps, great loafers, etc.

Come check out the new J.Crew location at 201 W. Broughton St. this Wednesday, September 10th, from 6-8pm, for sips, snacks, a live DJ, and shopping of the fall arrivals. Here is a peek of my top favorites of the newest J.Crew items below. I promise there is so much more to see! Don’t forget to RSVP to events@jcrew.com if you plan on stopping by the grand opening celebration. I hope that everyone can come. XXO, Stefanie

The Brice

The-Brice-Hotel {Image via J.T. Turner}
After my trip from France, I had a welcome home dinner / family celebration of my cousin’s pregnancy at The Brice Hotel. We ate at Pacci, located inside The Brice, and it was dee-lish-ous! Roberto Leoci’s “Leoci’s” has been a local favorite of mine for a while, as I am addicted to their Truffle Sachetti, so I expected it to be scrumptious with him as Executive Chef of Pacci. I had the Pesto Gnocchi, and it was tasty, but my aunt’s Striped Bass Mediterraneo – wow. I absolutely cannot wait to go back.

For those of you who don’t know, The Brice is a new Kimpton Hotel in Savannah. When I heard a Kimpton Hotel was coming to Savannah, I naturally was so excited because I have been a long-time lover of Kimpton Hotels. The Lumen and The Palomar in Dallas are some of my favorite hotels. When I was a freshman at SMU, my dorm was 50 feet away from The Lumen, where my parents would always stay. The Lumen has had a major renovation which I am so impressed with, not that it wasn’t great before, but the addition of the new restaurant and pool area is great for SMU and the Park Cities area! I also absolutely love Hotel Monaco, another Kimpton, in Washington D.C. So yes, basically Kimpton is fabulous and knows exactly what they are doing decor and service-wise. There is something so much more comfortable and personable about a boutique hotel. The Brice has many little intimate rooms and nooks that I can’t wait to explore more – and I also heard there is a little garden/patio area I need to check out. Will report back with more details!

More Summer Soiree Photos

summer-soiree-outfit Last week, I posted here about my Guide to a Summer Soiree in Sweet Lemon Magazine. We shot so many photos from this event that weren’t in Sweet Lemon Magazine, so I thought I’d share some more photos to give a little peek at the whole Summer Soiree. One of my favorite things about the party (besides the mojitos) were the peonies, especially the DIY gold mason jars I made (a special thank you to my friend Halle for helping me arrange the flowers!). You have to check out the magazine article for details on the recipes and DIY! See more photos below, and don’t forget to read the whole article here.

Rae Francis x Kathi Rich Trunkshow

Rae-Francis-Trunkshow {From left to right: Christina Coniglio, Kathi Rich, & Ariel Lilly}

I planned to have this post up yesterday, but my weekend was jam-packed and Monday was in fact “just-another-manic-Monday”. But right before the weekend, I attended the Rae Francis trunk show hosted at Kathi Rich boutique in Savannah. Rae Francis is a contemporary women’s line boasting versatile bohemian pieces founded by SCAD Fashion alumnae; Ariel Lilly and Christina Coniglio.  I read an interview of Ariel + Christina on The Fashion Spot after receiving my invite to the trunk show, and immediately loved the brand. In this interview, the designers talk about the meaning of Rae Francis (Ariel’s middle name is Rae and Christina’s father’s name is Francis), their inspirations and their “Made in America” mentality. From this interview and the description of Rae Francis being “boho and light”, I got the impression that these two SCAD grads were personable and well, just very “cool”… and they were exactly this in person!

I talked with Ariel + Christina about the fact that Rae Francis is “Made in New York City” and I was immediately impressed with the fact that while it may be cheaper to produce clothing in a foreign country, Rae Francis has a strong belief for supporting American economy and being more “local”. I don’t want to be a hyprocrite and say I only buy brands made in the U.S. – but this is starting to influence my purchase decisions and some of my favorite brands are made in the US, including Rag & Bone, J Brand, & Tucker by Gaby Basora.  The pictures below highlight a shirt I bought at the Rae Francis trunk show (and love). This shirt will hold a special meaning from meeting these awesome designers and sharing something we all had in common: Savannah and a love for fashion.

Kate Spade Comes to Savannah

Kate Spade Savannah After
Right now, Savannah is an exciting place to be – Whole Foods is on the brink of opening, Anthropologie just announced an opening, and Kate Spade is rumored to be hitting 319 West Broughton Street!  Anthropologie announced it’s plans to come to Savannah last week, and I have heard much buzz the past few days that Kate Spade is also coming to Savannah. The rumor that Kate Spade is coming to Savannah seems valid after the brand submitted a plan to the Metropolitan Planning Commission, but it would still need to be approved. I don’t want to jinx this, but if this happens…it is like a dream come true because Kate Spade is one of my favorite brands! I have recently become so obsessed with Kate Spade Saturday. Have you checked it out yet? If not, it is an absolute must!
Kate-Spade-Savannah The fact that Savannah doesn’t already have these stores may seem “so 2000-and-late” (yes, I’m quoting the Blackeyed Peas) to those of you living in larger cities, but I am uber-excited nonetheless.  When I lived in Dallas, I frequented Anthropologie & Kate Spade in NorthPark mall, and cannot wait to do the same in downtown Savannah! For local Savannahians, what do you think about these stores coming to our lovely city? For those of you not local to Savannah, does your city have an Anthro or Kate Spade? Do you love these stores? Would love to hear what everyone thinks! Hope everyone has a great day back from the holiday! XO, Stefanie

SCAD Fashion Show 2013

Fashion-show-2013-002 The annual SCAD Fashion Show was this past Saturday night in Savannah. I usually always attend (see my blog post from last year here), but I had a pretty crazy weekend and sadly could not make it 🙁 However, I was sure to check out footage and photos from the show. I think my favorite pieces have to be from Meghan Manis, Kat Sommovigo, and Michele Leal. I love the use of bright color in Manis’s collection, and the structured silhouettes with asymmetrical detailing in Sommovigo’s collection. And, there aren’t even words for the beauty of Michele Leal’s gowns… I mean, come on! Peruse the photos from the event here.. I would love to hear your favorites! How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun? I had a great photoshoot yesterday…but I can’t tell you what for just yet! Palm Avenue Fashion Show

lilly pulitzer rack Last Thursday was the Annual Yacht Club Fashion Show. One of my dear friends, Kathleen, the manager of Palm Avenue in Savannah, asked me to model in the fashion show. Even though I am all of 5’1 and not the tall-model-type, I said yes and we had loads of fun! Palm Avenue is a Lilly Pulitzer Via boutique, but also features brands such as Trina Turk, Milly, Shoshanna, Sail to Sable, & Britt Ryan. See more photos from this event below:
