Emirates First Class Review JFK >DXB

I debated doing a review of Emirates First Class because it’s been done before (here via The Points Guy and here via Travel Sort). But, It really was a great experience and thought I would share a few pictures. We were so lucky to get to fly Emirates for our honeymoon, and we anticipated that it would be the best plane trip of our life – and we guessed right.

We flew on the Airbus 380 equipped with walk-in shower, full bar in the rear of the plane, and great cocktails and drinks. The plane is totally obnoxiously decorated and blinged out – it’s really unbelievable. We were excited to fly Emirates because we thought we would be so comfortable and get to sleep so that we wouldn’t be too jet lagged for our honeymoon. BUT, we really didn’t sleep at all because we were just taking it all in. Shocker. I loved the food and the champagne, as well as the little take away pajamas and sleep kit. The flight attendants outfits and offering of Arabic coffee and stuffed dates was also a nice touch. I was not a fan of the coffee, but loved the dates. It was an overall amazing experience! For a travel tip – we bought Business Class and upgraded to First Class with American Express points. The point conversion for upgrade was way more valuable than a dollar amount – I was really surprised why anyone would ever buy First Class outright because it is so much cheaper to upgrade with points.

A Trip to Furbish Studio

furbishstudio-entrance This week, my mom and I made an annual trip up to Durham, North Carolina. As we were crossing over I-95 towards Raleigh/Durham, it dawned on me that one of my favorite online home boutiques, Furbish Studio, is based in Raleigh. After a quick glance at Google Maps, I realized this was not out of our route at all and we HAD to stop. I am currently decorating a new place – so Furbish has been majorly on my radar as of late. Originally, I learned about Furbish Studio through the blogosphere (shocker) by means of reading owner Jamie’s blog, I SUWANNEE. At this year’s rewardStyle Conference, I actually met Jamie and her assistant briefly over drinks with Ellen. One glance at Jamie’s elephant bag charm, and I knew anything from her store would be equally as bright, fun, and intriguing. I mean come on, how amazing is the entrance + pink door? I was so glad to get to see all of their amazing products in person, and if you’re debating anything online, get it – because it is even better in person!

A bit of what I found:

My favorite thing about Furbish is all the framed artwork that you can get for an affordable price! After starting to design a gallery wall, I have learned how expensive framing is. I bought this framed Teil Duncan (Charleston artist) piece that is framed and signed for $80 total – I don’t think you can beat that! See my favorite Furbish artwork below:

Insider’s Guide to Tybee

jpeg-24 {at The Breakfast Club last weekend}
Happy Monday, y’all! Hope everyone had a great weekend/ Father’s Day! I am so excited to be guest blogging on Virgin Atlantic’s blog today about my favorite little Tybee Island! When I was a freshman in highschool, my family bought a beach house on Tybee and we have frequented the island ever since. We love it!  Read my Insider’s Guide to Tybee here. Would love to here what you think about the article, or if you have visited Tybee before I would love to hear about your trip! xxxo, Stefanie

Rooftop + RED Valentino

One fabulous thing about Cannes, besides the parties, is the shopping. I had never seen a RED Valentino boutique in the U.S. before, but I found one in Cannes, and this dress, which is on sale here. RED Valentino reminds me of clothing from the 1950s/1960s era – high quality, feminine, and dainty … which has kind of died off these days. A little on the pricier side, but the quality is undoubtedly good. I just love their sweet & feminine silhouettes. A lot of RED Valentino is actually on sale for 40% OFF+ at Shopbop here and at Nordstrom here – get it before it’s gone! xxo

The Brice

After my trip from France, I had a welcome home dinner / family celebration of my cousin’s pregnancy at The Brice Hotel. We ate at Pacci, located inside The Brice, and it was dee-lish-ous! Roberto Leoci’s “Leoci’s” has been a local favorite of mine for a while, as I am addicted to their Truffle Sachetti, so I expected it to be scrumptious with him as Executive Chef of Pacci. I had the Pesto Gnocchi, and it was tasty, but my aunt’s Striped Bass Mediterraneo – wow. I absolutely cannot wait to go back.

For those of you who don’t know, The Brice is a new Kimpton Hotel in Savannah. When I heard a Kimpton Hotel was coming to Savannah, I naturally was so excited because I have been a long-time lover of Kimpton Hotels. The Lumen and The Palomar in Dallas are some of my favorite hotels. When I was a freshman at SMU, my dorm was 50 feet away from The Lumen, where my parents would always stay. The Lumen has had a major renovation which I am so impressed with, not that it wasn’t great before, but the addition of the new restaurant and pool area is great for SMU and the Park Cities area! I also absolutely love Hotel Monaco, another Kimpton, in Washington D.C. So yes, basically Kimpton is fabulous and knows exactly what they are doing decor and service-wise. There is something so much more comfortable and personable about a boutique hotel. The Brice has many little intimate rooms and nooks that I can’t wait to explore more – and I also heard there is a little garden/patio area I need to check out. Will report back with more details!

Afternoon in Cannes

tory-burch-calita-dress cannes-lacroisette calita-dress tory-burch-calita Dress: Tory Burch (on sale!) // Bag: Celine // Shoes: K. Jacques // Hat: Shopbop // Sunglasses: Stella McCarthy

It’s been a solid month since I have blogged.. exactly. I feel like such a bad blogger. The truth is, after my France trip for a couple weeks, I had to catch up on my day job + life. But, I will be sharing some pictures from Cannes this week. The film festival was absolutely amazing. My favorite movies I saw were Saint Laurent (about Yves Saint Laurent) and Maps to the Stars. I wore this Tory Burch dress (on sale now) a couple of times in Cannes, since I was there for nearly two weeks, and it was such an easy throw on dress. Anyways, happy Monday!! xxxo

rewardStyle Weekend Recap

dallas-eye This morning I am just getting back to Savannah (unfortunately missed my flight last night) after a long and productive weekend in Dallas for rewardStyle‘s “the conference”, which was held downtown at The Joule hotel. This was my second rewardStyle conference – see details from last year’s recap here. This year, I enjoyed seeing old blogger friends and making new ones, meeting with brands, listening to insightful seminars, and having lots and lots of margaritas and queso. On Friday, Ellen + I walked around the brand booths and then later had cocktails by the pool with Jessica of My Style Vita and Lauren of Sunday Beach (so nice to meet them both!). Later that night, kate spade ny hosted a party across the street from The Joule in the lawn that boasts the giant “Eye”. This was a super fun event.
katespade On Friday night, a big group of us went to R+D Kitchen in Highland Park, one of my long time Dallas favorites. Saturday was filled with speakers and seminars – and a fun lunch hosted on the rooftop terrace by Express. On Sunday, we all went to Southfork Ranch for brunch. This was a very unique Dallas experience filled with a tour of the ranch house, hay rides, corn hole, and bloody marys. Throughout the conference, I loved seeing old faces from last year including Allyson, Brighton, Chassity, Liz, Hallie, and Gaby, but I also was so excited to meet new ones: Blair, Grace, Caroline, Gia, Christine, and Shai, to name a few.  I felt like I had talked to a few of these girls over social media for quite some time – and it is so nice to finally be able to connect a face and conversation along with those over-the-web interactions. Having so many talented and creative people in one place was so cool and was exactly what I was needing to get re-inspired. So, I am starting off the week uber inspired, hope you are too! xx

Snapshots from Austin

austin-motel Last week, I ventured to Austin with old & new friends for Amelia‘s Bachelorette. It was a blast – and it was so good to get back to Austin. Austin is a special place to me because I spent many weekends in college taking roadtrips for concerts and shows in the Live Music Capital of the world. My friend Taylor and I went a few days early and stayed at the Hotel St. Cecilia – and wow. I am in love and want to go back ASAP. Check out some photos from the hotel + South Congress area below.
